La Bâtie is delighted to welcome Swedish icons Peter Bjorn & John to the Usine à Gaz in Nyon for their tour celebrating their cult album Writer’s Block. In the mid-2000s, this record became a melodic indie pop touchstone, led by the unforgettable single Young Folks, a song everyone has heard, if not hummed along to. It featured in Gossip Girl and How I Met Your Mother; Kanye West rapped over it and another track from the album was sampled by Drake. In a thriving Swedish music scene buzzing with the likes of The Hives, I’m From Barcelona, Mando Diao and Junip, this trio more than held their own. No reason to play it cool today: this is the perfect chance to dive back into an album that left a lasting mark on the pop world, breaking free from over-polished sounds while still delivering timeless gems along the way. Peter Bjorn & John have always mastered the art of pairing catchy, standout melodies with subtly gritty, precision-crafted instrumentals.

Kicking off the night, we’re thrilled to attend the release of Luftpost, the first fully self-produced EP from Wolfberg, the duo formed by Perrine Berger (guitarist from Adieu Gary Cooper) and sound artist Nicolas Wolf. Together, they’ve fused their creative worlds in an act of musical resistance against social media capitalism, embracing values like authenticity and unity. Their pop-infused sound blends radio samples, clanging metal, lush synths and electric guitars, restoring a rightful sense of urgency to the music.
