London-based musician, producer, DJ, and presenter Nabihah Iqbal is an accomplished artist who never stops questioning herself. Hard hit by the blows of fate in 2020, she questioned the meaning she wished to give to her music and slowly learned to reveal herself. Dreamer, her new album, was born as the artist calmed down, cut herself off from technology and social media, and got closer to nature. Iqbal overcame physical and mental suffering, took an interest in new musical cultures, reconnected with her Pakistani roots, and gave her music a warm, almost protective atmosphere in which even beats take on a spellbinding melodic aura. To open the night, Fhunyue Gao and Zoé Sjollema, two musicians well-versed in the performing arts, will join forces with Junee to present Océan Oublié/Assordante. In this album, violin, theremin, synthesisers, and vocals echo each other to conjure up an imaginary world imbued with both anxiety and serenity. Set against a backdrop of experimental pop, this daring blend of languages and genres is sure to intrigue and delight.
