For over twenty years, Cirque Trottola has been spinning like the top it’s named after. Their shows – over 300 performances across France and internationally – are universally acclaimed for their original setups and a universe reminiscent of expressionist theatre. For this fifth creation, the company debuts a new tent: still red but now styled like a Second Empire winter circus. It’s elegant, it’s Strano, because the world is strange and the urge to escape is real. These disbelieving circus folk slip under the canvas to get away, to flee absurdity and leave war behind. Under the tent, trapeze artists and acrobats, deserters from the real world, create a dream charged with music, thrills, laughter and poetry. A dream of a better world.
