Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness, aka BCUC, promises to set the night ablaze with their banging bass lines, mind-bending congas and bass drums, and overlapping vocals, singing, chanting and whistling in a fiery atmosphere. The outfit from Soweto, South Africa, combines voices and sounds to perfection, linking ancestral indigenous traditions with contemporary soundscapes. BCUC’s spellbinding, trance-like music merges the frantic rhythm of the city with the jungle in a form of ethnic hip-hop driven by punk energy. For a few years now, the band has been providing excitement and awe, conveying the image of an incredibly rich and open Africa. Their performance at La Bâtie in 2019 had already shook the Alhambra to its core!
To kick things off, the trailblazing, exotic Geneva-based outfit Cyril Cyril will raise the temperature with tracks from their latest album, Yallah Mickey Mouse, published by Born Bad Records, featuring bouncing beats, patched-up banjos and unusual samples. An explosive evening awaits!
